Believe it or not these bugs were caught off the jetty in one of the bays in San Diego. No boat or diving required to get a 5 star lobster meal. I don't really recommend throwing hoop nets off the rocks since it can be a quick way to end your night and waste of a perfectly good trap... but it is doable and if you know the topography of the area and are mindful of the tide, it is possible and works better than you think.
Ingredients:
Olive oil, minced garlic (fresh), parsley (fresh), butter (baste at end), S&P
Pro tip: go light on the salt and or salty seasonings, like most seafood they have plenty of salt content in the flesh.
Paired it with a Swami's IPA by Pizza Port Brewing (yea I like IPA's with seafood) and rice and beans.
